Monthly Event Moved from May to December 10

To help the community get ready for weather and other hazards, Austin’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) hosts monthly Pop-Up events in each City Council District. HSEM is rescheduling this month’s Emergency Preparedness Pop-Up event, due to facility repairs.

The rescheduled May event will now be held on Wednesday, December 10 from 3-6 p.m. at the Menchaca Road Branch Austin Public Library, 5500 Menchaca Rd. The event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 21.

The next upcoming event will proceed as scheduled, on Wednesday, June 18, 3-6 p.m. at the Spicewood Springs Branch Austin Public Library, 8637 Spicewood Springs Rd.

Representatives from HSEM along with other City departments and partners in emergency response will be on site to provide tips, information, and supplies. The first 25 guests will receive an emergency supply kit, with a limit of one per household.

To learn more about preparing and see the full event schedule, visit HSEM’s digital preparedness hub at ReadyCentralTexas.org.
