HIV Resource Administration Unit (HRAU)

The HIV Resource Administration Unit is responsible for procuring HIV/AIDS primary medical care, treatment, and health-related support services for the City of Austin-funded HIV Prevention and Care Services, as well as multiple federal grants, including Ryan White Part A and the Minority AIDS initiative, Ryan White Part C, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS.

The Austin Transitional Grant (TGA) area is the counties of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell. The Unit distributes public notices to solicit responses from service providers to Requests for Assistance (RFAs), and also offers Technical Assistance regarding the RFAs. Review panels evaluate the them.

The Austin TGA offers a coordinated service delivery system for persons living with HIV/AIDS in the Austin area in order to meet their primary medical care and related needs throughout all stages of illness. The services are provided at little or no cost to clients. Primary prevention services such as health education and outreach activities are offered to target populations.

The Quality and Performance Review section oversees activities related to the quality management plan, assessing program outcomes, developing standards of care, implementing clinical chart reviews, and measuring client satisfaction. The Data Manager ensures data integrity by analyzing data and developing reports based on the federally mandated client level data collection system. In collaboration with case management contractors, the unit provides funds for transportation services for eligible clients. Services include taxi, van, public transit, and gas vouchers.
