The Music Division realizes the importance of enhancing Austin’s cultural economy and we support this development by connecting members of the Austin music community through a variety of programs, such as Music for Kids, Austin Music Memorial, and Plaza Saltillo Project.
ATXPort
The Music Division is committed to bringing the worlds of music, film, digital arts, and education together. Through international partnerships, our office develops strategies for strengthening avenues of cultural exchange and collaboration between the Austin music community and global music markets.
Industry Relations
The Music Division strives to enhance the quality of life for all music professionals who call Austin home. Our partnerships with organizations such as Austin Music Foundation and Capitol View Arts help develop opportunities for Austin artists to be at the forefront of the ever-evolving music industry.
Music Tourism
Home to over 21 annual music festivals, Austin is a hub for fans of music from around the globe. The Music Division plays an integral advisory role in sound permitting and special event planning, and serves as the liaison between event organizers and City departments. Through collaboration, we coordinate the success and safety of major festivals and events.
Outdoor Music Venues
Learn about permits for an outdoor music venue, sound equipment on vehicles and in parks, existing noise ordinance, restrictions on decibal levels and use of sound equipment, fees and costs. More information available here.
