Mission

The Office of Sustainability's mission is to inspire Austinites to take action and lead change for a healthy environment, excellent quality of life, and economic vitality.

The Office helps coordinate "green" and sustainability efforts and action at the City of Austin, provides community education and outreach, and manages the Austin Climate Protection Program. It is part of the City Manager’s Office.

The 2011 City of Austin Climate Action Report

In the four years since the City of Austin’s Climate Protection Program began pursuing its ambitious climate action goals, it has become clear that solutions to climate change are the same ones that keep our air breathable, our water, clean, our economy vibrant and our communities healthy. The 2011 City of Austin Climate Action Report chronicles the City’s journey to becoming climate neutral. Join us on the road to a more sustainable future in Austin.
