Appeal a Dangerous Dog Finding

A party may appeal a dangerous dog decision by filing a notice of appeal and, if applicable, an appeal bond in the amount determined by the municipal court, not later than the 10th calendar day after the date the decision is issued.  Notwithstanding Section 30.00014, Government Code, or any other law, a person filing an appeal from a municipal court under Subsection (a) is not required to file a motion for a new trial to perfect an appeal.  It is the responsibility of the appellant to request and pay for a transcription of the proceeding. It is the responsibility of the owner to pay for the cost of housing the animal(s)during the pendency of the appeal.
