The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is committed to offering programs for teens that encourage development through active play, outdoor exploration, the arts, critical thinking, and leadership activities. Teen Recreation programs offer participants a way to interact and create friendships with other teens around the city.
Teen Turn Up Series
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department presents Teen Turn Up Series! Teens from across the city come together once a month to enjoy music, delicious food, fun games, and more. These free events are for ages 11 to 17 and begins at 6:00pm to 8:00pm for each event listed below.
"Spring Out" - April 15th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
"Fear Factor Games" - February 21st, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
"Laser Tag" - May 17th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
"Movie Night" - January 17th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
"Glow Out" - March 20th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Summer Teen Camps
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department offers diverse, educational, and action-packed Summer Camps for teens. The following sites will offer Summer Camps in 2019. Our mission is to provide teens with a safe and fun way to spend summer days. Our programs offers opportunities to explore nature, give back to the community, stay active through swimming and sports, and participate in activities that foster social and emotional wellness.

Counselor in Training Program
Counselor In Training is a leadership development program with a focus on expanding our participants' professional skillsets. In addition, we aim to provide our CITs with fun recreational opportunities in a camp setting. The following sites will offer Counselor in Training Programs for teens in 2019:
Teen After School
Dittmar Recreation Center is proud to offer Teen After School for youth attending Bedichek Middle School, Bailey Middle School, and Covington Middle School. The Teen After School Program is designed to foster development through active play and enrichment activities. The schedule includes: a healthy snack, homework/reading time, staff led active play, and theme based enrichment activities. Participants will ride in a City of Austin 15 passenger van from school to Dittmar Recreation Center. Register at austintexas.gov/parksonline.
