The Austin Animal Services Office 5-year Strategic Plan Dashboard highlights the department’s progress toward the goals and priorities adopted by City Council in 2025. The Strategic Plan was developed through a collaborative process led by a working group of Austin Animal Services staff, community members, and partner organizations. The group gathered input from employees, volunteers, residents, and stakeholders through surveys, listening sessions, and interviews, while also reviewing data, previous reports, and best practices from animal services organizations across the country. This broad engagement helped shape a plan that reflects the needs of the community and the future of animal services in Austin.
