Join us for Zaragoza’s Spooky Fiesta, a free community Halloween celebration for kids, families, and all ages. Come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy an evening filled with activities, treats, music, and plenty of photo opportunities.

Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead

Austin Animal Services is excited to join the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) for its Día de los Muertos celebration on Sunday, November 1, 2026!
Stop by to meet adoptable dogs and learn how you can support local pets. Adoption fees will be waived, and attendees who have voted can receive a free adoption voucher valid through November 8.
Enjoy FREE engraved pet ID tags, microchip scanning for dogs, information about free and low-cost pet resources, freebies fore you and your pet, and check out our Día de los Muertos-themed booth while connecting with our team and learning more about fostering, volunteering, and adopting.

PetSmart Adoption Event

Austin Energy Community Connections Resource Fair
Saturday, November 14 | 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This annual resource fair is a free, family-friendly event that combines fun with learning to assist our customers who sometimes could use a little help to meet basic needs.
Stop by the Austin Animal Service booth to enjoy FREE engraved pet ID tags, information about free and low-cost pet resources, plus freebies for you and your pet while connecting with our team and learning more about fostering, volunteering, and adopting.

DAC Nights: See Spot Paint
Wednesday, November 18 | 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
November is Senior Pet Adoption Month, and the Dougherty Arts Center is celebrating with a night of portraits and pets! Learn about adopting senior pets in need of a good home, then create a special decorated pet portrait using pictures and DIY frames.
This event is free! DAC Nights recommends participants bring a printed photograph of their pet for the activity.

As the community shelter, Austin Animal Services loves to participate in events around the Austin area. Depending on the purpose and logistics of the event, expected attendance, and availability of staff and volunteers, participation may include:

- Free pet ID tag engraving
- Free microchips
- Booth with adoptable pets
- Mobile adoption unit
