On January 4, 2022 the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He has been having a lot of issues with APD involving his roommate.
He has recordings of his roommate threatening to kill him and his roommate attacking him with a
hammer at one point. APD continuously claim it is not a threat. New years eve he tried to hit him
in the head with a metal table. His roommate came in with cough drops and coughing and he asked
his roommate if he had corona virus, and his roommate told him he did not know and starting
spitting in his face and tells him that he hopes he gets sick and does not recover. He reported it to
the police, and they told him that was matter of civil court-when that is in fact a federal offense
and people have been given 15 months in prison for making a hoax about that. The police are
clearly favoring his roommate because he is Black and gay and he is white. His roommate has
admitted to attacking him and police won't do anything. The cops tell him to leave him alone and
when they leave, his roommate starts harassing him again. His roommate has tried to kick his door
in when he was on the phone with 911 and the police still did not do anything. He is at his wit's
end and does not know what to do because the cops won't do anything. If he would do anything
to his roommate, it would be like racial discrimination, harassment, and assault.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
