On August 1, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He called originally because there is a lack of clarity in filing a
police report online and he had a sense of urgency because he has surveillance evidence
related to two of his stores that were burglarized. Since that time, he has been contacted by
APD with links to upload evidence thru the system and he was able to provide some
background to the officer that called him. Now he has additional information that other
businesses have been burglarized by the same person over the past month. The person is
stealing thousands of dollars and he is just waiting for APD. He just wants to provide
additional evidence. The complaint is that there is no way to provide additional
information he has, and he is still just waiting on APD. He is not complaining about any
individual at APD just the process.

This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
