On May 19, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: A man invaded the complainant's home and tried to sexually
assault his pregnant wife. The arresting officer,
wrote that he would
,
charge the man with more than criminal trespass but he didn't and now the man is back in
the complainant's neighborhood where they all live. Officer
was present but the
complainant didn't interact with him.
didn't take any statements or collect any
evidence. The complainant tried to show
video and pictures of the man but
wouldn't look at them until after they had apprehended the wrong man. The complainant
disagrees with the charges, or lack of charges, that were placed against the assailant.
At first the complainant thought the officer didn't know how to do his job but after talking
to the detective he thinks they don't care to do their job or don't care about the victims. He
had an argument with Detective
when
became belligerent and the
complainant had to stop and tell the detective that they should be on the same side.
Detective
seemed angry that the complainant posted about the incident online,
saying, "I saw your little post on Next Door." The complainant wasn't posting it to make
the cops look bad, he was doing it to warn his community about this man.
