On January 11, 2022 the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges:
in missing unit per
missing/runaway has been
sarcastic towards me toward the situation numerous times. Officers called to my runaway calls
have numerous times taken the situation as a joke..commenting as saying " what are you doing to
your child why she runs away" saying " " we don't need to find her " it's your responsibility hits
your kid" comments like this. I had a missing unit receptionist or intake worker say things like
"
this is the reason why I did not have kids" comments. I also had a
police officer and offer
no help but to just try to take my daughter off the " missing" status and I said no help me look for
her. I am as we speak waiting on
officer to call me.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to determine
if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service Rules, and Municipal
Civil Service Rules.
