FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Release Date: Apr. 02, 2025
Contact: Austin Animal Center        Email

Austin Animal Center, in partnership with Greater Good Charities, is offering a FREE spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs from April 3 to April 7, 2025, at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center. This high-quality, high-volume clinic will also provide free vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and microchips to pets who undergo surgery to ensure pets return home healthier and better protected. Spaying and neutering help prevent animal overpopulation, reduce the number of stray and homeless animals, and contribute to safer neighborhoods by decreasing roaming behavior and unplanned litters.

Spokespeople from AAC and Greater Good Charities will be available for media interviews on the morning of Thursday, April 3, to discuss the clinic’s goals and the importance of spay/neuter services for pets and the community.

These clinics give pet owners the opportunity to keep their animals healthy, while also helping the community. This is the fourth free clinic in the past seven months, with more planned throughout 2025. The last three clinics provided spay/neuter services to over 3,000 pets, and this one is expected to complete 1,200 surgeries, reducing the strain on local shelters and promoting responsible pet ownership.

Where: Brodie Oaks Shopping Center, 4115 S. Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Texas, 78704
When: April 3 to April 7, 2025
Time: Registration and drop-off will begin on-site at 7:30 am. and will continue until 10 am, or until the schedule is full each day.

Spay and neuter procedures can cost anywhere from $75 to several hundred dollars, depending on the animal’s breed and size. Many pet owners also face long wait times for appointments, sometimes waiting months to get their pets fixed. This clinic eliminates those barriers by offering same-day procedures at no cost, making it easier for pet owners to access essential care for their animals.
