The ANSC provides hands-on educational exhibits and recreational activities that increase awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.
Located on the western edge of Zilker Park, the Austin Nature and Science Center (ANSC) is dedicated to the exploration of the natural world. Since 1960, ANSC has provided nature exhibits, education programs and recreation resources for countless visitors, teachers and children of all ages. The ANSC provides hands-on educational exhibits and recreational activities that increase awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.

The Austin Nature and Science Center offers many programs for preschoolers, kids, families and adults. Program topics range from butterflies to caving. More information about the programs is available here.

Take the Nature Challange!
The goal of Texas Nature Challenge is to get families and kids outdoors by visiting as many participating parks and nature areas in Texas as they can. At each site, participants complete activity
challenges designed for family fun and nature exploration. Learn more here
