The attorneys also provide legal advice and opinions on municipal issues such as elections, open meetings, ethics, open records and public finance.

The unit also provides primary support to the City Clerk on issues relating to ordinances and the City Code, elections and campaign finance, lobbying and lobby registration, and boards and commissions, as well as primary support to the Ethics Commission.
