The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified James Davis as the victim of the homicide that occurred in the 1700 block of Frontier Valley.
On Thursday, December 2, 2021, at approximately 12:01 a.m., 9-1-1 received a call regarding shots fired in the 1700 block of Frontier Valley. APD officers, along with Austin-Travis County EMS, arrived on the scene and discovered James Davis with obvious trauma. Despite life-saving measures, Davis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:22 a.m. by Dr. Miller.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to the scene to interview witnesses and process the scene. Witnesses advised that a disturbance broke out in the apartment complex parking lot between several individuals driving a White Dodge Charger and some residents. The Charger left the scene after the shooting occurred.
On December 3, 2021, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death as gunshot wounds and the manner, homicide.
