CCO plays an important role in providing oversight, guidance, and assistance for Capital Improvement Projects utilizing the non-conventional Alternative Delivery Method approach.
The Texas Legislature authorized municipalities the use of these alternate contracting methods for a variety of construction projects. These alternative delivery methods vary from traditional Invitation for Bid (IFB), or design/bid/build, methods used by the City. Contract award is based on proposals which offer the “BEST VALUE” to the City of Austin. Best Value is determined by scored and ranked weighted criteria published in the solicitation. The Alternative Delivery Methods used by the City of Austin are:
- Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP)
- Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMR)
- Design-Build (D-B)
- Job Order Contracting (JOC)
