AXON Quarterly Use of Force Analysis
The Austin Police Department (APD) is currently in the process of revising its methodology for reporting Use of Force data. As part of this transition, APD has temporarily suspended the release of all Use of Force data to external entities, including the Office of Police Oversight (OPO). This change was discussed during the Special Called Meeting of the Public Safety Committee held on May 19, 2025.

As a result of this suspension, the OPO cannot produce or publish the quarterly Use of Force Analysis Reports until data sharing from APD resumes. The OPO remains committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and public trust. We are in communication with APD and will resume our analytical reporting as soon as the updated data becomes available.
