On May 5, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: I was asleep in my car
got woken up to a
group of cops sticking there head in my doors at about
because they wanted to make
sure I was ok because I was asleep in a "bad area" and they didn't. One cop noticed
something in my car then assumed he knew what was in my car was being misused for a
purpose other than what it was for. He then began belittling me assuming I was doing drugs.
If he really thought it was he was more then welcome to check and see but didn't. Another
officer asked for my I'd I have them passport because my Drivers license and social
security was stolen from me

I even tried reporting that at headquarters I called 311 and I couldn't even
get one police officer to show up after waiting for a supposed call. I called at 1 was told it
would be a 2 hour wait I waited there 9 hours no one called or anything. And the day before
that I tried to report something too two different police and no reports were made. One just
handed me a number on a part stating this shows we talked. It's a shame when you need
the police they do nothing and when you are doing nothing but sleeping decide to harass
you for being asleep in your car when there are tents of people sleeping on the streets all
over Austin doing much much worse. I also called the number you make complaints to
during business hours but got sent straight to voicemail left my name and number and got
nothing. I would love to talk to someone about everything that's happened.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
