NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
September 23, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0834
On September 20, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: His complaint is based on gender discrimination. He called 911
because his former girlfriend was trying to assault him and ultimately, he had to act in self-
defense. There was no damage done. The officers had their body cams on and based on his
attorney, regardless of what was discovered, the officers were going to arrest his ex based
on gender or perceived gender because she is transgender. Based on that discriminatory
behavior the DA has dropped the case. Depending on the response to his complaint, he
may or may not seek legal remedy.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
