On November 21, 2022, the OPO received a email complaint.
The complainant alleges: While filming the Austin Police strapping an unhoused small
woman against her will to an EMS bed, and depriving her of her patient's bill of rights, the
right to refuse care. I was assaulted by
friend, who not only assaulted me, but
threw my camera with video, into the street.
, very busy. Officer
came up
to me and refused on video to get my camera, refused to investigate or assist as I told him
I was assaulted. He refused to do his duty and instead started pushing and punching me in
the shoulder and chest. He arrested me for touching his hand, an involuntary action due to
his assault and retaliation of my filming which is also free speech. He tried to get me into
a felony situation and the prosecution no billed that case and dismissed the other in the
interests of justice.
I was falsely arrested in retaliation for our free speech.
This is about the 100th or more policy violation and deprivation of rights incident that I
have filed and to date, your agency and the APD have yet to hold themselves accountable.
Do something, make me believe in you and your promise of community policing and police
accountability.
I would like to file a complaint on this officer for violating my right to free speech and for
the pattern and practice of abuse that APD and these officers are participating in.
The officers are on their body cams. Secure them. I'll be using those videos in court.

This incident is another in a long string of Free Speech constitutional violations by APD
that I have reported to your agency.
Make me believe that you do something in Austin other than use up taxes to cover for
police crimes. Felonious activities are at hand.
I was falsely arrested in retaliation for our free speech. Then when my cameras were
returned, the sdcards were not included, which was not only my evidence, but my work
product as a member of the
, the free press.
This is not the first time and not the last time that APD has tampered or destroyed my
evidence on my cameras, my property and my work product. I hope this is the last time I
have this happen to me after this complaint. And that you will punish the responsible
officers and inform all of APD that they may not steal evidence, tamper with video or stop
people from filming. Or that they will be punished accordingly.

I would like to file a complaint on all the agents and officers involved in this felonious act
for violating my right to free speech and for the pattern and practice of abuse that APD and
these officers are participating in.
The officers are on videos and there is a paper trail. Investigate this incident separately.
It's a big deal to steal, retaliate, delete, and remove evidence.

This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
