On December 22, 2022, the OPO received an email complaint.
The complainant alleges: My name is
I recently received my Mustang
back from a transmission shop which refused to send my car back to me for 6 months
I
tried through the prosecutor's office and the Attorney General's office and finally
through a certified letter threatening unauthorized use of a motor vehicle within 10 days if
he did not return my vehicle my vehicle was returned to me by way of record which I
paid for and when my vehicle got to my address the right side of the car was completely
crumpled and damaged and the

transmission besides to keep my
1800 I paid to get my transmission fixed. You can imagine how I felt when I realized that
my transmission had been stolen out of my car before being returned to me

immediately called 311 and asked if I needed to call 911 they said no you take a non-
emergency report which I did and no police officer responded for 10 business days I was
unable to make a report this created an impasse into my filing in the second precinct for
small claims suit I finally found a way to make a report using internet filing instead of
human being on the phone hopefully with the time date on the document it will help me
to be able to make an actual Report with the Austin Police Department a report was
supposedly made for parts stolen off of vehicle but no police officer has contacted me
still up to this point of
I started trying to make a report back in
somewhere around there it"s unfortunate that the
Austin Police Department will not even taking report from citizens who pay their taxes
and support their Police Department and yet I am still treated with lack of respect and
professionalism. Can someone please take a look into my filing this complaint and
help me to get the momentum needed to move it through the system SO that I can
continue my process is it trying to make repairs.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation
to determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil
Service Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
