Madelon Umlauf (1942-2025) was a talented artist and respected educator born and raised in Austin, Texas. The daughter of famed sculptor Charles Umlauf and poet Angie Umlauf, Madelon grew up in a very creative environment. Madelon’s family legacy includes the beloved UMLAUF Sculpture Garden and Museum, which they gifted to the City of Austin in 1985.

This exhibition will feature a collection of her paintings, which embody her lifelong pursuit of “Catching the Light”.
