The Star Bandit Foundation proudly announces the 2025 Stargaze Theater Festival, returning to captivate audiences with five never-before-seen short plays by emerging Austin playwrights.

All five short plays will be presented each evening over two weekends of stellar performances at the Dougherty Arts Center, exploring themes of love, memory, time-travel, and mysterious nightly metamorphoses. Ticket proceeds directly support Star Bandit Foundation’s mission to nurture local artistic talent and enrich Austin’s cultural landscape.

This year's lineup includes:

  • Once Again Forever by Marcus Delzell - In a dreamlike purgatory where memory resets with every toll of a bell, three strangers must uncover clues before they forget who they are, what they’ve done, and why a dead man lies beside them.

  • Time Corpse by Zack Freed - A man and his partner develop a time machine to save his grandfather, only for his grandfather's nemesis to attempt to foil his plan.

  • Stones by Kaleb King - An aspiring world champion for an influential strategy game is beaten by a blind prodigy and solicits a rematch.

  • Harpy by Sarah Waddle - Mary, a woman who keeps turning into a bird, must return to her childhood home after an abrupt divorce.

  • Persona Non Grata by Alessio Franko - Held at the border on the way to visit his long-distance girlfriend, a doctoral student must prove he is truly in love or face the unforgiving legal system of the isolated, culturally backward nation of Lugubria.

Stargaze Theater Festival returns as Austin’s premier destination for innovative theater. Audiences are invited to experience the forefront of contemporary storytelling.
