The Joint Inclusion Committee (JIC) Budget Workgroup is hosting a virtual townhall on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. This event is open to all community members and aims to gather feedback to help shape to help shape the JIC's Budget Workgroup's FY27 budget recommendations. Why Your Voice Matters
The City of Austin wants to hear from you. Community input has a direct impact on City priorities—49% of the JIC member commissions’ budget recommendations for FY24–25 contributed to the funding of critical programs based on feedback from past townhalls.
Examples include:
- College Access Programs through Austin Economic Development
- Mental health care support through Austin Public Health
- Additional staff for Austin Parks and Recreation
