Kyle Jones, 36-years-old
The Austin Police Department (APD) Commercial Burglary Unit arrested a man connected to several burglaries at local businesses. In October 2022, officers began receiving numerous reports of business burglaries. As the investigation progressed, detectives identified the primary suspect as 36-year-old, Kyle Jones.
Investigators discovered that Jones already had 13 active felony arrest warrants out of Travis and Milam counties. Detectives requested the assistance of the APD Metro Tactical Unit and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) to assist in arresting Jones. In mid-December, LSFTF members arrested Jones. During his arrest, officers discovered he was driving a stolen vehicle and possessed a firearm.
A comprehensive criminal investigation culminated in detectives authoring and executing 15 additional felony arrest warrants for Jones due to his involvement in the burglaries of numerous Austin area businesses.
Evidence suggests that Jones had an accomplice in several of the burglaries. The second suspect, whose photo and description are included in this release, has yet to be identified.
The second suspect is described as:
- White male
- Thin build
- Approximately 6 feet tall
- 160 lbs.
- Possible age range from the late teens to mid-twenties
