The Austin Police Department (APD Officers) responded to the scene of a failure to stop and render aid crash in the 6000 block of Springdale Road in the early morning hours of April 2, 2022. The preliminary investigation shows the driver of a Red Mustang traveled southbound in the 6000 block of Springdale Road when it collided with a driver of a Silver Lincoln Continental. The driver of the Lincoln Continental pulled over in the bicycle lane previously assessing damage to the vehicle when the driver of the Mustang struck the passenger side, causing the driver of the Lincoln to hit his head on the pavement.
The driver of the Mustang continued traveling southbound on Springdale Road without stopping to check on the victim’s condition. The victim is currently at Dell Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Due to the impact, the red Mustang will have damage to the passenger side and missing the passenger side mirror. Based on evidence recovered from the scene, the make and model of the Mustang could be anywhere between a 2014-to 2022.
