On Friday, March 10, 2023, at approximately 5:07 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between an SUV and an unidentified pedestrian in the 6300 block of FM 969. The unknown pedestrian died on the scene. The driver of the SUV remained on the scene, cooperated with the investigation, and was not impaired.

This incident is being investigated as Austin's 19th fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 19 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, 17 fatal crashes resulted in 18 deaths.
