On May 26th, 2022, at approximately 1:34 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the 8500 block N Mopac Expressway SB. A preliminary investigation and witness accounts indicate that the motorcyclist Gregory William Trippe possibly lost control, causing his motorcycle to fall. A vehicle attempted to veer out of the way but collided with Trippe. Trippe died at the scene.
