"She and her husband are in a car club, and they ride around through the downtown area and
come up Reini St. and park under the bridge near the shell station downtown between 7th and
8th St to look at the cars. That night, they parked and got out and were laughing and talking and
taking pictures of cars with friends and their kids. Out of the blue some officers jump out of a car
with guns and yelled for everyone to not move. A lot of people had kids with them. They finally
found out they were pulling their guns on one guy in particular, but there were a lot of people in
the crowd. They let the officers know that there were kids in the car. The officer told them "F***
those kids, we don't care about your kids". The officers pushed her 14-year-old daughter down,
causing an asthma attack, they pushed her 13 year old son down twice for no reason. Then they
body slammed her husband on the ground and arrested him for interrupting the police. She then
saw another officer push her daughter down again. Then officer Mathis pushed the complainant
down and kept pushing her down. The complainant asked why the officer was pushing her, she
was just trying to check on her daughter. The officer told her to get across the street and gave her
two counts before she arrested the complainant. When they cuffed her, they cuffs were too tight.
They finally figured out the police were there because a guy pulled out a gun on someone, but she
and her husband were the ones that ended up in jail for some reason. There was also a man there
recording the incident and the police bum rushed him and also took him to jail.

"I work at Austin FC as a ticket taker.
On 6/30/24 between 6:00pm and 7:00pm Officer Gunter #8062 started moving and shutting
gates against the fire code, pushed fans away from the gate by putting his hands on ticket holders,
and yelled at staff that he could do what he wanted. I personally witnessed him push a woman
who had a valid ticket.
This officer used intimidation and force with my co-workers and fans, with no regard to our jobs
or procedures.
i hope you understand that this man physically pushed people who had valid tickets, yelled at our
staff, and did not follow his own policy
I have contacted my attorney to file suit.

wanted to do yoga in the studio at the gym. She fell asleep for about 10 minutes at the studio,
then the manager came up and began kicking her and telling her she had to leave. He threatened

police came, instead of speaking to her at all and getting her side, they had him come tell her she

"Note* The date of incident listed is arbitrary, this is a complaint about an ongoing issue with APD
The complainant has been filing stalking and harassment reports against the same man since
2018. She has filed many reports and has not received a call back or follow up. She is filing these
reports about the same person, and since the police have been doing nothing, this person has
been emboldened to continue harassing her. Her most recent case number is 24-9010042. She
got a call back one time from an officer who said someone would be over at her location in a few
minutes, then no one came and the case was closed. She stated that the APD is seemingly ok with
crimes happening against women, because they aren't doing anything about any of her reports.
She's been making reports- some of which aren't even in the system, she's been making service
requests, no officers are calling back and no detectives are investigating any of her cases. She just
wants to know if any of these cases will be handled, followed up on or if she'll receive any help at
all from APD."

Complaint:
I was exiting my car after pulling into a parking space at the
in Georgetown, Texas
when a man with a gun jumped from behind my car and asked me at gunpoint: "What are you
doing in my car?". I told him that it was my car. I thought I was being robbed at gunpoint. After a
few seconds, the man with the gun apologized and explained that he thought I was exiting his car
(rather than my own). He then tucked his gun into his pants and walked to his own car.
When I was walking to the hotel from my car, I took a photo with my phone camera of the man
with the gun and his car license plate. He then followed me and told me that he was an off duty
Austin Police Officer and showed me his badge. I took a photo of his badge as well. The Officer's
name is Mark Yaletchko. The fact that he is an off duty Austin Police Officer does not change the
fact that he assaulted me by pulling a gun on me when I was merely existing my car.
I was very shaken up by the incident, SO I called the Georgetown Police while Austin Officer
Yaletchko was still in the parking lot with me. I explained to the Georgetown Police Officers what
occurred, and the Georgetown Police Department filed a criminal case against him for an arrest
warrant: Case No.: 2024-193-016.
From my perspective, an Austin Police Officer should certainly know better than to hold up
someone at gunpoint without first identifying himself as an Officer. And his confusion about me
exiting my own car rather than his car is ridiculous - lots of cars today look similar, and the
incident occurred in the middle of the day. I thought that he was going to shoot me with his gun
when he jumped out from behind my car with his gun in hand.
I need to file a formal complaint with your Department against him for this assault. This is so
upsetting- I'm still shaking even though the incident occurred hours ago.
I tried to attach the 2 photos that I took of him and his badge, but I cannot tell if they properly
uploaded here.

I was in a catastrophic accident 3/16/22. I have a copy of the police report - case report
#220751032.
The department failed to cross reference the license against the man that hit me.
I have the VIN number
) but it"s my understanding that the vehicle was stolen.
This man did not have any legitimate registration or insurance. RED flag to not have something
accountable for him.
Needless to say I have injuries that I"m STILL contending with such as a traumatic brain injury
and seizures. Yet, there is no accountability. I was unresponsive at the scene.
I even have a sheriff friend who looked at the police report to which he responded "what were
these rookies doing?" The APD failed me in the fact that they had no legitimate information on
the driver. He was driving 70 mph in a 65 zone in rush hour traffic. I was at a standstill prior to
being struck from behind. They should have arrested him for trying to even leave the scene. I was
unresponsive and the jaws of life were needed to extract me. My car was totaled.
I can"t work, I can"t LIVE my life through no fault of my own. Accountability of the department is
necessary. You can"t expect someone to not be able to live as a human being and not have
someone held accountable.

She is a security guard at the location of this incident. There had been some issues with the
security alarm and fire panels prior to her shift where the police had come out in response to a
silent alarm going off. The building administrator came out and attempted to fix the alarm panel,
left and gave the complainant his number should any more issues arise.
Later that evening the alarm went off again. She attempted to disable it and tried reaching out to
her supervisor and her building administrator.
The complainant was startled by the sound of keys, not expecting the police to come out since
the building admin had disabled the silent alarm earlier.
The police did end up coming out again in response to the silent alarm going off.
When she approached them, they began asking her questions about her identity. They asked for
her name and ID, and ran her license plate on her car. She was in uniform this whole time, with
the security company name printed on her t-shirt. She stated that she felt that because she was a
black woman, they were treating her more like a suspect.
The incident number related to her complaint is 24-2121519. She did not get the officer"s name

"I called 911 on 6/30/2024 about a group of guys that where outside in the parking lot drinking
and had a speaker outside with super loud music, to the pint you could hear it to the front of the
apartment complex. I had approached the guys and asked them to lower the music, obviously
they were very intoxicated that they got super aggressive and started to threaten me. I told the
operator what had happened and she said they'll send someone out. I'm assuming no one came
out because it was 2:45am and they were still outside with the music and at this point with
fireworks, I called again and they said someone would come out and again NO ONE WAS SENT
OUT TO CHECK IT OUT. The music did not stop until 4:15am as well as the fireworks. I know it's a
noise complaint and not an "emergency" but if they guys are drinking outside and being
aggressive when we are asking to lower the music it could have turned to something bigger."

"That on the evening in question, her son,
, Her husband,
, and a
family friend,
, were returning home from a visit to Austin Parks and Pizza. Upon their
arrival, her husband, who is a mechanic began inspecting the tires of
vehicle.
During this time, police officers arrived on the scene, responding to a report of an individual with
a firearm. The complainant explained that, upon seeing the officers, her husband and son went
inside their home while
remained outside interacting with the police. The situation
escalated when her husband received a phone call from
,
informing him that he was
being detained. Concerned and seeking to understand the situation, her husband and son ran
outside. According to the complainant, the officers immediately handcuffed both her husband and
her son upon their exit from the house. The complainant emphasized that her son, who is only 14
years old, has a history of trauma, which made the situation particularly distressing for him. The
complainant states that the officers did not conduct a thorough investigation before taking action
and instead relied on their authority to control the situation. The complainant further stated that
the officers were excessively rough with her husband during the arrest, resulting in injuries to his
hands."

Complainant was in a car accident about 20 days ago, and APD informed him they would call him

19 days later complainant receives the call but was driving and asked if they could call him back
because he didn't want to be distracted. They said yes, but then never called him back. This
morning, he received a phone call which he believed to be APD and answered the call. When he
picked up, the line went dead. Shortly after that, he received an email stating that his case has
been closed.
When he called to inquire, he was told that APD tried to contact him twice and he was not
available - and his case was closed. He is upset that though APD did call twice, he answered the
second time and it was them that hung up. This is unfair and called 311, to which they gave him
OPO's number.

A marked city pd car was speeding and cutting people off without lights or signals. Highly unsafe

another cruiser who also didn"t turn on their lights.
This is insanely unsafe and I can"t believe he almost smashed into me

Regardless of my poor choice to get drunk, I walked up to police one night and told them I needed
help finding my car. I was walking with my cousin who was a sober driver but she took an Uber to
meet me earlier so she didn"t know where I parked. It was FREEZING and I was obviously drunk.
They gave me no assistance. They shrugged their shoulders like, "not my problem." They didn"t
even ask if I was planning on driving drunk and didn"t give a damn if I made it home alive or not.
I had ONE night in my life where I drank a few too many and based on their response, I
apparently deserved to pay for my mistake with my life. They are paid to serve and protect. They
didn"t serve me or protect me or anyone else I may have driven into that night had I potentially
been planning to drive drunk, which I wasn"t. I could have died of hypothermia or a car accident,
been attacked, abducted, raped, thrown in the lake to drown. FUQ APD

This happened in 2022 around parking garage near 6th Street but I was parked on the street. It
was a a long time ago but I want you to know that the police are worthless down there if they
shrug their fat ass shoulders and ignore people the way they did me that night. They"re not on
alert and even a vulnerable drunk female walking up to them to their face wasn"t even a problem
to them. If they"re not even able to see a risk in their damn face talking to them, I can assure that
people in the area are not safe just out and about considering the police lack of care and
alertness. I work for the state, I have zero criminal record, I have no traffic violations, I am
licensed/ insured, educated, responsibly pay my bills and haven"t had a drink since that night.
Before that night I was always careful not to drink much. But somehow I got drunk or maybe
drugged off drinks that tasted extremely watered down. Regardless, APD doesn"t do enough. You
don"t need a city ordinance to make you do the right thing.
The logic I see APD operating on: "Well city council doesn"t explicitly tell us to assist a sick drunk
person SO eff u."
Why on the hell were 6 police men just congregating shooting the breeze in al parking garage?
That"s what I"ll never understand. Must be nice to sit on their ass and retire early

On July 14, 2024 ~4:20pm on MoPac going North, somewhere between crossing over 360 and
before reaching downtown, a police vehicle turned their lights on and was looking to pass
highway vehicles in a hurry. I was driving my truck in the center lane, and a Subaru was in the left
lane. No other vehicles were in the general area of this event. The police officer came upon us
very fast with the lights on, or turned them on in the left lane with little warning. Either way, the
Subaru in the left lane was not given a reasonable about of time to move over, I was surprised by
how quickly the police car came upon us. Before the Subaru could react like any average person
and move out of the left lane, the police officer passed going 70+ in the left shoulder of the road.
Given the frequent amount of gravel on the sides of Texas highways, the police car spit up rocks
while passing, and one hit my windshield in the center lane. This cause an immediate crack in my
windshield. I understand that accidents happen, and police have to respond quickly to
emergencies, but I feel the passing on the left shoulder was unnecessary. The Subaru was going to
move over, it was a matter of a second or two to clear the left lane so the office could proceed on.
No other cars were around, no traffic to fight. Instead they passed on the shoulder and caused
damage to my windshield. I hope something can get done to help fix/replace my windshield.

Complaint:
Dear Office of Police Oversight,
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding an incident that occurred on the night of
Sunday, July 14th, at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Rd and Canterbury St in Austin. I believe
the conduct of the 911 dispatcher was unprofessional, and the police response was inadequate,
which allowed a crime to go unchecked.
At 9:08 PM, I witnessed the theft of an expensive motorbike. It was dark, but I believe the
motorbike was a Harley Davidson, possibly a bagger or bobber model. The thief did not have the
keys and was struggling to push the motorbike north towards E. Cesar Chavez.
I immediately called 911 to report the incident. I provided my location and a description of the
thief to the dispatcher. The dispatcher seemed annoyed with my responses and abruptly went
silent during our conversation. Concerned and unsure if my call was still being processed, I called
911 again at 9:13 PM. The dispatcher, sounding irritated, assured me that someone would be sent
to the scene.
I remained at the location, ready to assist the police by pointing them in the right direction. The
thief took a left turn into a dark alley, and still, no officers arrived. Frustrated and worried about
the situation, I called 911 once more at 9:28 PM. This time, the dispatcher told me, "Okay, we will
cancel the call then."
UNDED
I am deeply disappointed by the dismissive and irritated attitude of the dispatcher. As a first-
generation immigrant, I felt that this might have contributed to the lack of action taken. This
incident has left me feeling unsafe and questioning the reliability of emergency services in our
community.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

I"m filing a complaint for Austin PD failure to hold the complainant responsible for making a false
report. It was found that
made false allegations, stated on Pg 10. Officers also
failed to arrest her after she came back again that same night, and was told she was trespassing
se#2024-991436. I have since then filed charges for her trespassing on both 4/11 and 4/19.
APD still havent responded to me. This person has a history of CDV, because the APD refusal to
investigate or press charges, Im in danger, my children are in danger. She injured herself, claims
of seeing a gun, made false report, and the police did nothing.
The officers were pleasant. I appreciate their calmness in the situation, it could"ve been worse.
Their lack due diligence to investigate and enforce the law let 2 children be put in danger.

My husband,
, is a pediatric anesthesiologist with US Anesthesia Partners
(formerly known as Capitol Anesthesiology) who has been in Austin for over 20 years.
Last week Friday, 7/12, around 3 pm,
went to the Wells Fargo in Mueller to withdraw cash in
person. He then went back to work at
where he pulled into the secure
parking lot that you need a hospital badge to get into. A dark sedan followed him into the parking
garage and once
went into the hospital, they pulled the car around and someone got out of
the car and broke his driver side window and took the cash he withdrew from his car. He called
311 and they told him they would be in touch within 14 business days. The service request
number they gave us is: 24-00254271. This was an unnerving and stressful event for our family
and
was also made aware of the security breach. We have yet to hear
back from the Austin Police Department.
We found out yesterday, that the subsequent day on Saturday, there was an assault/robbery in
front of the same Wells Fargo. We are hoping that by reaching out to your office, you will be able
to encourage resources to be utilized to support increased security at this particular Wells Fargo
branch so our Austin citizens can feel and be safer. We appreciate your consideration and hope
you will be able to help us bring this to APD"s attention.

The complainant and her friend were being followed by strange men. They were accosted by one
of the men earlier in the day but didn"t make much of it. The complainant noticed him following
them in his car. They noticed he had a girl in the car with three other men and none of them
seemed related. They called the police five times, and no one showed up for approximately 2.5
hours. She doesn"t even think they made a report. When they did show up, they acted like they
didn"t want to be there, and they didn"t ask the whole story. APD kept mentioning they weren"t

:This sounds rude I know... But I sincerely believe this should be titled Police Incompetence. On
Tuesday, July 16th @ approximately 18:00 my son was involved in a car accident on Braker lane
in north Austin were his car was totaled.
The passenger of the car that hit him got out of their car with a hand gun which he put in his
waist band, the driver got out and discarded drugs behind a nearby fire hydrant.
At this point my son felt that he was in danger and called the APD and informed them of the
accident as well as the presence of a fire arm. Meanwhile the passenger hid the gun in the woods
at the scene.
While waiting for APD to show up a phone call was made and another vehicle arrived and
retrieved the hidden items from the two occupants.
At some point an APD officer CALLED my son from
and got the location but never
showed up, and never returned four return calls and text messages from my son.
The Fire department came as well as EMS, but still no APD. Tow truck came and towed both
vehicles still no APD. Mean while my son is left hanging, not knowing what to do. After two
hours of trying to reach the "OFFICER" laughable, that had called him, instead of responding, my
son called 311 to see if he would get in trouble for leaving the scene. 311 advised him that he had
done all he could do.
So my son, who by the way is a single father of a seven and two year old is without a vehicle and
has a full time job.
Because the APD didn"t do their job, my son has no police report and was in legitimate danger
that was not seen to, or even followed up on.
My son is going to have a difficult time with transportation now because he couldn"t get there
info, and has no report from you for his insurance company.
The only positive thing that happened was that an Officer Bastow called my son later that evening
to see what had happened.
My son says the driver was

On April 23, 2024 my son
was temporarily living homelessly in downtown
Austin. He was a mental health patient. Apparently he failed to identify himself to an officer and
was arrested. At the police station, because he was presumably in a paranoid state, he gave his
younger brother
identifying information as his own. On the 25th
body was
discovered, deceased. On the 26th his father and I were informed ( incorrectly) that our son
body had been discovered. We were shocked and horrified by the news and began telling
loved ones of his death. When I called a friend of
to share the news, I found out that
was safe. At that point I called the police and the medical examiner's office. I was asked
repeatedly if I was sure that
wasn't the deceased person they had. The following day we
were informed that it was
who had died. The mistake was made because no one did a
fingerprint check for identity before calling the family. It has been a terrible experience to have to
face what happened, but the additional heart break of having to hear that another one of my sons
had died added to the sorrow.
There are two issues that I hope will be addressed. One is that officers clearly didn't recognize a
person in a mental health crisis, which if handled correctly might have saved
life. (He had
been trying to get help for weeks but kept being turned away) The second is the misidentification
of
body as his brother and the subsequent incorrect information that was given to his
father and me.
Please let me know if you need additional information.

I called today 7/20 at 10:59 am and stated there was a transient wearing no pants or underwear
who was outside my business. She aggressively was yelling at myself and my staff through the
doors and exposing herself to us. Also threw trash all over the front doors. I was asked by the 911
caller if I wanted contact with the police and I stated that Yes i did want to talk to the police. The
officers came around 20 minutes later. They appeared to bring her away however she came back
immediately within 20 minutes and was once again screaming outside my business with no
pants.
I want to highlight that at no point did the two officers who came out did not come and speak
with me or my staff or even approach us for a convo at any point, even though the 911 caller
asked if I wanted to speak with them and I said YES I DID.
I was also told by the 911 caller during a second callback (call was at 12:05 pm) that if she came
back to our property to call back if I wanted to issue a criminal trespass. I called back at 1:37
regarding the same crazy transient who returned to our business, still with no pants, now
wielding a giant tree branch that she was back. The 911 caller asked me if I wanted to file a
criminal trespass to which I stated yes. No officers came out even though I stated she was still not
wearing pants now with a potential weapon.
I had video evidence of her exposing herself in our parking lot & ring footage of her screaming,
exposing her bare boobs and vagina to myself, my whole staff, and clients in the waiting room,
and being insane. Would have to loved to show this to the officers if they took this situation
seriously and took 5 minutes to have a conversation with me.
They didn't arrest her for exposing herself and being naked and crazy in public because she came
RIGHT BACK to my business after the officers left.

At approximately 2:15pm on July 21st 2024, I was headed southbound on Mopac near the
Windsor Rd exit. A car that appeared to be broken down was stopped in the express lane, and an
officer was stopped behind this vehicle rendering aid. A separate police officer, driving in an
Austin PD police vehicle with the identification number "6120", proceeded to cross all lanes of
traffic and come to a near complete stop on Mopac near where this was occurring. The action by
this officer was extremely reckless and irresponsible, as the 4 or 5 cars immediately behind this
officer were forced to swerve out of the way or come to a complete stop as well. This officer
nearly caused a multiple car pile up, and put the lives of many citizens at risk through this
unnecessary action. I personally felt my safety was endangered because of these actions.

I filed a harassment complaint against my building for allowing off leash dogs including an off
leash dog that attack my own repeatedly, and for terminating my lease when I reported dog
attacks to the building.
Official Case Number: 2024-9011947
APD accepted my report and seems to be taking action to respond, but my situation hasn"t
improved, and their handling seems suspicious. For example, before I filed the complaint, APD
squad cars would park in the culdesac while residents would come in and out with their dogs off
leash but never respond. Now they don"t park in the culdesac at all. As another example, the
building sent out a reminder about a "Crime Awareness" meeting to be held on July 31st. The
reminder acknowledges some residents have complained about the timing of this event, but I
never received a notice to begin with, and the building now claims only the reminder was ever
sent.
I"m not normally a conspiratorial person, but it seems like APD is responding to my harassment
complaint by changing their behavior, and helping the building address its potential legal
liability, but not by addressing the actual complaint. In fact, the resident whose dog attacked
mine is still keeping her dog off leash and I ran into them today. And it"s not like I reported a
Karen issue to APD. This woman and her friend used their dogs to physically intimidate me for
complaining about them to the building.
NDED
It"s strange and disheartening that APD seems to be focusing on not getting caught for slacking
on the job when I didn"t even report that, while I am still being exposed to the same unsafe
situation I reported, and evicted by the building I reported, while APD helps them CYA as well.
Honestly makes me suicidal and not want to live in Austin. The cops should use harassment
reports to help the victims not the perpetrators.
This woman has been harassing me since October of last year and still is.
I don"t have an officer name or badge number because APD didn"t even bother to contact me
about my complaint.

To whom this may concern,
Our Property had the privilege of having three of your officers assist one of our resident's back
to property and I am most grateful for this. However, after escorting our resident up to their unit
your officers chose to return back to the lobby by taking staircase that would have led them all to
our properties community kitchen area and have them come out towards front of property
where they initially entered. However, while FDC was monitoring property's cameras all officers
did notice and read the sign that is placed in front of a door to the right stating it is a Fire
emergency exit that states if you exit this door you will sound off the alarm. FDC witnessed as
the middle officer in blue shirt decided to ignore sign and his fellow officers decided to follow
suit exiting that door which did sound off
alarm at 8:46 PM. Our Property Camera
monitor 1st Front Street. 20:46:45 PM
At this point front desk clerk is rushing to go turn off alarm so as to not get other residents to
start calling/coming down to lobby area to see what is going on. In saying this I am coming to
you because this behavior is something I did not expect from officers of the law. I believe our
officers are to be an example to us all and not supposed to disregard signs that are put up to be
followed and not ignored. The sound of the alarm being so loud caused my anxiety to shoot up
causing my lower spine to suddenly pop & causing me to have horrible lower back pain for the
remainder of my shift. I don't want them to get reprimanded but I do believe it needs to brought
to all officers attention that what may be easy as exiting an emergency exit to them can cause
someone else's property/shift to become chaos. I thank you for your attention regarding this
matter.

That Police officers in the Rutland/Metric area are racial profiling against Hispanic individuals.
The complainant advised that on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, police officers racially profiled
against him near that area as well. The complainant stated he was driving towards the nearest
7/11 when he observed a police unit pull behind and begin to follow him. The complainant
stated he then pulled into the 7/11 and the officer followed behind him. The complainant stated
that there were two officers in the police unit. The officers continued to stare at the complainant
as he pulled into the 7/11. The complainant stated that he parked and went inside to pay for gas
and purchase some items. As the complainant exited the store, he noticed that the two officers
were still staring at him. The complainant stated that after he left the 7/11 the officers continued
to follow him. The officers following the complainant all the way home, and then left the area
without stopping him or conducting any kind of investigation. The complainant believes officers
are targeting him because he has made several complaints against these officers in the past. The
complainant stated that he has seen these same police officers arrest, detain and give citations to
Hispanics only. The complainant feels that these officers target Hispanics because they think
Hispanics are not properly licensed. The complainant advised that the unit involved in this

Complaint:
There was a time in Austin where commercial vehicles were being pulled over and inspected on
the side of the interstate. The vehicles they were inspecting looked like at any time they would
cause a accident causing a fatality. These unsafe vehicles were being towed off the streets. I felt
safe for my family traveling through Austin. Now, I don"t see them anymore. I understand their
commercial vehicle unit was DISBANDED. WTH are they thinking. You actually have a unit, like
DWI unit, who ACTUALLY see a result of their jobs. Drunk taken off road saves the drunk driver
AND possibly a family from dying. When I see a 18 wheeler or dump truck being towed, I knew
that my family and friends were safe on the highway from that unsafe, 80,000 lbs truck. The
People who live, work and travel through Austin deserve to be safe. I wish the unit were at full
strength, protecting the highway
