The Austin Police Department (APD) is asking for help identifying suspects involved in an Aggravated Robbery/Aggravated Kidnapping that happened on July 19, 2022. This incident occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. An older woman told officers she was walking around her neighborhood in the 2300 block of Francisco St. when two suspects approached her; a man and a woman. The female suspect told the victim that she had a gun.
Both suspects then forced the victim inside a 2019 Ford Escape with an unknown license plate. The suspects demanded a large amount of money. As the victim tried to leave the vehicle, the male suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and ordered her to stay inside the car.
The suspects drove the woman to her bank and forced her to withdraw a large sum of money. After the withdrawal, the suspects used the victim’s bank card at an ATM. The suspects then drove the victim to a business, where the female suspect forced her to use her credit cards to buy expensive items while the male waited outside in the vehicle. Finally, the suspects drove to another location where the victim was dropped off in the middle of a street. The suspects fled the area.
The suspects are described as:
- Hispanic male, early 20’s, black hair, fade-style haircut, approximately 5’8, thin build, wearing a blue surgical mask, blue and white plaid shirt, dark pants, and black shoes with white soles
- Hispanic female, 5’6, medium build, medium length brown hair, wearing a black fisherman style hat, blue surgical mask, gray shirt, camo pants, black shoes
The suspects vehicle is described as:
- 2019 Blue Ford Escape, unknown license plate
