On August 30, 2022, the OPO received an online complaint.
The complainant alleges: We want to complain about 5 police guys scaring us and didn't
let us go home. It was around
,103 degrees and they came towards us. They were
asking a bunch of questions and nothing dangerous was going on. They said why they are
here, because of a lady calling them about us. But, I didn't do that. My daughter was just
sitting there in a chair and holding her hands together. They were still being mean and
asking a bunch of questions like they were in a gang. My daughter and I are still scared
because they keep wanting to know personal information that doesn't have anything to do
with what is going on right now. I can't talk that great when I am afraid also. So, I didn't
like that they kept bothering me about it. I was SO scared also. The point is that nothing
dangerous was going on. My daughter wasn't being dangerous, she is age 21. I wasn't being
dangerous with anyone also. No one around here was being dangerous. There is no reason
to run into other issues that don't have anything to do with it. He was even talking weird
with my daughter and 2 other police guys didn't even want her to be near me. They were
guarding her. It doesn't matter she is near me. He can ask her herself,near me. She can be
by me. I found this on my door and I didn't do this to my daughter. I do nothing but help
her and other people. So we don't like people wanting to know personal stuff which doesn't
have anything to do with it. We don't like being treated this way and wanting to talk about
this all the time. So I just want to complain. I'm not wanting them to be suspended or fired
and you don't have to call me back. No, I'm just complaining because I don't think that is
how to talk to a grown lady with her daughter and staring at her all the time. We are not in
a gang. Also, I already talked to another police investigator who came there asking more
questions. Thank you.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
