NOTICE OF COMPLAINT
June 16, 2022
ICMS #: 2022-0505
On June 13, 2022, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: He called 911 to report his car had been stolen. He let a guy
who was helping him move some furniture use his vehicle over weeks ago and the person
did not return it and has started demanding money to get his car back. When the police
responded to his 911 call the person was in another vehicle that he had stolen, and the
police did not do anything. The next day the person was arrested. If APD had arrested the
guy that night instead of letting him go, he may have been able to get his vehicle back. He
still has not gotten his vehicle back.
This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
