On January 3, 2023, the OPO received a phone complaint.
The complainant alleges: His ex is making death threats toward him and his family. When
he called APD to report it, the officer he spoke to was dismissive and began to question
"why did he do this" and "why did you do that". The complainant told the officer his ex
has made threats against him and his family and he is concerned because his ex knows
people who are connected to organized crime. The officer told the complainant he did not
believe him. The officer was very unprofessional and rude and did not want to do his job.

officer got mad and was dismissive because the complainant demanded that his report be
taken. He explained to the officer that his ex told him not to ever come to

he will end up dead and if he did not pay his kids will pay. The officer did not take him
seriously, SO he wants to file an official complaint. The officer told him he did not believe
him and that he did not think he is in any kind of danger. The officer kept telling him he
needed to call
The complainant feels the officer was trying not to do his job. The
officer was very rude and unprofessional. To date, no one has helped him and there has not

This notice of complaint is a request for Internal Affairs to initiate an investigation to
determine if the employee conduct is within compliance of APD policy, Civil Service
Rules, and Municipal Civil Service Rules.
