The City of Austin's Small and Minority Business Resources Department has set quarterly goals for its Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Procurement Program based on the 2022 Disparity Study. These goals consider the Annual Procurement Forecast developed by the City of Austin's Financial Services Department (FSD). The aspirational goals for the first quarter of FY 2024 are 7.28% for MBE firms and 2.13% for WBE firms. SMBR will continue to work with the FSD to enhance the Annual Procurement Forecast by including additional data that will aid in the development of future aspirational goals. SMBR staff will provide updates on the third and fourth quarters of Aspirational Goals. The next step in the process is to collaborate with FSD and City departments to determine release dates and commodity codes/scopes of work for procurements expected in the remaining quarters.
