Aquatic Assessment (Phase 1)

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department conducted an Aquatic Assessment with Brandstetter Carroll Inc., the assessment consultant. The assessment was done in coordination with the City of Austin stakeholders. Below is a synopsis of the assessment.

Public Meetings

The aquatic assessment team held eight public meetings, four in August 2013 and four in November 2013.

The first first round of meetings held in August of 2013 provided users of the City of Austin's Aquatic facilities the opportunity to discuss and express their views on the current state of the facilities, programs, or other concerns. View the information provided in the first round of meetings.

The second round of meetings held November 2013 was to update the stakeholders on the assessment progress and gather additional public input. Four meetings were scheduled including two held on Saturday, November 23, one at Turner Roberts Recreation Center, and one at Mendez Middle School.  View the information provided in the second round of meetings.

Due to low stakeholder turn out at the Saturday meetings, the Aquatics Division held two additional open house events to continue the outreach process.  Below are the scheduled open house events.
