Spring Programs

Cubs Club, Ages 5-7

Cubs Club is an outdoor recreation and environmental education program for young participants that emphasizes outdoor time and connection to nature all in the spirit of play.

Throughout the semester, the Cubs Club program will introduce participants to a variety of outdoor activities based around a central theme for each week. From kayaking to biking and science experiments to nature crafts, Cubs Club is the place to be for outdoor fun!

Cubs Club will take place every Wednesday through May 18th. No meeting during Spring Break week.

Participants may be dropped off as early as 3:00pm. Programming begins at 4:00pm and pick up time will be between 5:30-6:00pm. All meetings will take place at the Camacho Activity Center.

Dirt Divas Ages 7-12

Dirt Divas is an outdoor recreation and environmental education program that emphasizes women’s leadership roles in the outdoor recreation and environmental fields. Activities will range from nature-based arts and crafts, to kayaking, archery, service learning, outdoor cooking, exploration, community projects, and more. All activities will be led by Camacho female staff with an occasional special guest speaker featured for some sessions as well. The program is open to any 7 through 12 year old who would like to be a Dirt Diva!

Participants may be dropped off starting at 3:30pm. Programming begins at 4:00pm and pick up time will be between 5:30-6:00pm. All meetings will take place at the Camacho Activity Center unless otherwise noted.

Ages: 7yrs-12yrs or grades 3rd-6th

Cost: $20

Dates: Every Tuesday through May 17th – *No meetings during the Spring Break* 

Times: 3:30p-6:00p

Youth Biking Club, Ages 7-14

Join us on Fridays after school at the Camacho Activity Center to ride bikes! Participants in our Youth Bike Club will learn all the ins-and-outs of trail biking through group rides on the Lady Bird Lake Trail!

Ages: 7yrs-14yrs *exceptions for younger children can be made dependent on skill level*

Cost: $10

When: Friday's from 4:00-5:30pm *No meeting during Spring Break*

Learn-2-Ride, Ages 4+

Has your child just not quite gotten pedaling without training wheels? Is there just not enough time to practice? They just won't listen or stay motivated trying at home?

That's where the Camacho Learn-2-Ride program comes in!

Bring your little ones to our Learn-2-Ride program at Camacho Activity Center where we're teaching young kids the necessary skills to ride a 2 wheeled bike on their own. Learn-2-Ride is the perfect program to teach your child how to ride in a safe and fun environment.

All bikes and helmets are provided! Learn-2-Ride takes place on Fridays from 4:00-5:30. Registration is required. $5/session. Ages 4 & up. See program dates below.

Summer Camp Information

Camacho Summer Camp Weekly Themes and Dates

Ages: 5-7 Bobcats, 8-11 Mt. Lion, 12-16 Teen

Times: Drop-off 7:30a-9:00a / Program 9:00a-5:00p / Pick-up 5:00-6:00pm

Program Dates: Monday-Friday June 6th-August 12th No camp on June 20th or July 4th

Cost: $175.00/Week for Residents, $250/Week for Non-Austin Residents. ($40 deposit/week due at registration)

**Pre-registration is required and program space is limited. Parents/Guardians may enroll their child/children in camp by paying a $40 deposit for each week they want their child to attend camp. The remaining balance is due by 5:00 pm 21 days prior to the start of camp. If the balance is not received by 5:00 pm on the due date, the child’s place in that session and the $40 deposit* will automatically be forfeited. Participants that register after the program has filled can be added to the waitlist. No deposit is required to be added to the waitlist. The program fee is refunded in full only if the class is canceled by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department. *Deposits are non-refundable.

All participants will need a sack lunch and 2 snacks, closed-toe shoes, a mask, sunscreen/bug spray, and a water bottle all marked with the child’s name.
