Austin Implementing New Brand, Naming System

The City of Austin is launching its first-ever citywide brand to strengthen community engagement and improve the services we provide. Developed with input from both residents and employees, the new brand officially debuts October 1st across digital platforms, including the City’s website, department pages, social media, and newsletters.

As part of this effort, all departments will now begin with the name Austin—a reflection of our commitment to One Austin, united in service to our community. With that being said our department will now be known as Austin Small and Minority Business Resources.

“We want our community members to be able to recognize City of Austin employees and trust the services we provide,” said City Manager T.C. Broadnax. “Whether the brand appears on a website, a utility bill, a street sign, or the side of a vehicle, people will know exactly who it’s from and what it represents.”

Branded materials will roll out gradually to reduce costs, with digital updates appearing immediately and physical items such as uniforms, signage, and vehicles updated as they are replaced. Public safety uniforms for Police, Fire, and EMS will remain unchanged to ensure clear and easy recognition.
