Approve a resolution canvassing the results of the May 14, 2011 General Municipal Election.

Item B002 - May 24, 2011

Approve the waiver of the deadline requirements and the closure notice which allows affected individuals and neighborhood associations to object to the closure under City Code Chapter 14-8 for the Sine Die event sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative Caucus which is to be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 12 noon until 12 midnight on West 13th Street between Colorado Street and Lavaca Street and on Colorado Street between 12th Street and 13th Street. (Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Mayor Pro Tem Mike Martinez)

 

The motion to approve the waiver of the deadline requirements and the closure notice which allows affected individuals and neighborhood associations to object to the closure for the Sine Die event sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative Caucus was approved on Mayor Pro Tem Martinez' motion, Council Member Cole's second on a 7-0 vote.

Discussion and overview of departmental conditions including year-end estimates, horizon issues, unmet needs and key performance data for the following departments: Planning and Development Review, Police, and Fire.

 

The introduction was done by Ed Van Eenoo, Budget Officer. The Planning and Development Review briefing was done by Greg Guernsey, Director, Lisa Nickle, Financial Manager, and Sue Edwards, Assistant City Manager. The Police Department briefing was done by Art Acevedo, Police Chief, Alice Suter, Assistant Director- Admin Bureau, Chief's Office and Michael McDonald, Assistant City Manager. The Fire Department briefing was done by Harry Evans, Assistant Chief, Amy Singer, Administrative and Finance Manager, and Michael McDonald, Assistant City Manager.
