On November 6, 2012, Austin voters approved a City Charter amendment that provides for the election of City Council members from 10 geographic single-member districts with the mayor elected from the City at-large. The 10-1 Council formation began with the November 2014 election.
Prior to its current makeup, the Council was comprised of a mayor and six council members, all elected at-large, so there are more members in Districts 1-6 than in Districts 7-10. Names appear in reverse chronological order by period served.
