About Shirley Erp, Chief Information Security Officer

Shirley Erp (CISSP, CISA, PMP, CDPSE, ITIL) is the second Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the City of Austin, where she is responsible for ensuring the security of all information and information systems for 15,000 City employees and almost one million residents in the 11th largest city in the US.

Shirley has over 20 years of IT experience, across multiple industries, including government, education, banking, and health. Before joining the City, she was a Cybersecurity Advisor for KPMG and was the Chief Information Security Officer for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She also held senior positions at the University of Texas System, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, SecureInfo, and USAA.

Shirley holds a Master of Science degree in Technology Management from Texas A&M-Commerce and Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.
