Learn more about sustainable construction—and deconstruction

A Message from Austin Resource Recovery

The City of Austin will host a sustainable building materials forum on Friday, Nov. 13, at the Permitting and Development Center. Called “Design, (De)Construction and the Circular Economy,” the forum runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., exploring sustainability, circularity, and regenerative urbanism. Registration is open for this free event.

Confirmed speakers, panels, and workshops are listed on the registration page.  A light breakfast and lunch are provided. The forum is a collaboration between Austin Resource Recovery, Austin Planning and Austin Energy.

For contractors interested in digging deeper into material reuse, the City will also host a hands-on Deconstruction Workshop Nov. 16 to 20. Participants will deconstruct a single-family wood-frame house, led by an experienced trainer. Learn more and apply today.
