Part one of a two-part program to become part of Austin Fire’s cohort of Wildfire Informed Service Providers, this training will give you the terminology and mitigation strategies used by fire professionals.

Part 2 will focus on best management practices and have two SEPARATE TRACTS depending on your service type: Structure Hardening or Fire Resilient Landscaping.

The risk of wildfires in the Austin area is growing, and more trained wildfire mitigation professionals are needed every year. Join us for a half-day training that will help private-sector service providers understand how wildfires behave, the risks in our region, and the fast-growing demand for wildfire mitigation services.

Whether you’re a landscaper, roofer, handyman, arborist, builder, or home-service professional, this session will show you how wildfire-safe practices can fit into the work you already do. You will learn simple, effective techniques to lower fire risks around homes, buildings, and yards. You will also learn how to explain these services clearly and confidently to your customers.

Everyone who completes BOTH courses will receive documentation form Austin Fire and be added to the public service provider registry available on our WildfireHUB. This added training helps strengthen your expertise and sets you apart.
