Register for *Starting Your Own Small Business (In person & Online)

This 3-hour course is for aspiring entrepreneurs in the Austin area. Participants will learn how to file the required paperwork and gain a clear understanding of the steps required to launch a new small business in Texas. Clear, simple guidance will help you get started quickly, keep costs down, and prepare you to overcome common challenges. The class includes a helpful Toolkit with templates, guides, forms, and more to support your journey. This course is eligible for the City of Austin Business Skills Certificate program.

Participants will also get a free toolkit – a collection of templates, forms, worksheets, software and other helpful resources to help make good use of the information shared in class.

This class is availabe live, in-person at the city's Small Business Training Room for networking and interaction with the instructor and others in the class. You also have the option to participate virtually, via Zoom.

Earn A Business Skills Certificate
This workshop is eligible for the City of Austin Business Skills Certificate program. Participants who complete six eligible courses in the program are recognized in a public awards ceremony with other local business and community leaders.
