I Belong in Austin – Rental Assistance Application Portal Closed March 7 at 5 p.m.

The I Belong in Austin  program provides tenant rental assistance to residents vulnerable to eviction.

Effective April 1, 2026, the portal will not reopen and the City of Austin and El Buen Samaritano will no longer be accepting applications via the rental assistance portal. The decision comes following a reduction in overall funding for the City. Remaining assistance dollars will be redirected to focus on legal advocacy and negotiated eviction settlements.

Access Translation and Interpretation Services

The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request - including translation and interpretation services. For assistance, please contact Austin Housing at 512-974-3100. The City receives and accepts Video Relay Service (VRS) calls from people who are Deaf or hard of hearing through Relay Texas 7-1-1.
