The City of Austin Economic Development Department is thrilled to announce the next cycle of the Nexus Grant, designed to support local small organizations, individual artists, and small arts businesses. This program offers $5,000 grants to new and emerging applicants to fund creative public activities. Grant funds may be used for expenses such as administrative costs, equipment and space rentals, marketing, and other eligible expenditures. Applications for the Nexus Grant will open Tuesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. and close on Tuesday, August 27 at 7 p.m. 

"Our Nexus Grant is a crucial element in our mission to foster a thriving creative economy in Austin. By providing financial support to local artists and small arts businesses, we are not only enhancing the cultural richness of our city but also driving economic growth and community resilience,” says Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Director of the Economic Development Department. “This grant embodies our commitment to empowering creatives and ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed and contribute to Austin’s artistic community.”

Eligible applicants must have a minimum one-year history of cultural or arts programming in Austin, and be headquartered in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area—which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. Application Assistance 
The Economic Development Department provides multiple resources to assist with the Nexus Grant application process and eligibility. Additionally, all support opportunities will be offered in Spanish or will have a Spanish interpreter available.

  • Application Assistance: In-Person Workshops and Virtual Drop-In Assistance available.

Los solicitantes deben tener un historial mínimo de un año de programación cultural o artística en Austin y tener su sede en el área estadística metropolitana de Austin-Round Rock, que incluye los condados de Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis y Williamson.
