FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Release Date: Mar. 27, 2025
Contact: APD Public Information Office     512-974-5017    Email

Case:  25-9003090

Date:  Friday, February 7, 2025

Time: Between 5 and 6 p.m.

Location: Near the area of S. Congress Avenue and E. Oltorf

Suspect:  Jacob A Rodriguez, Black male, 22 years of age

The Austin Police Department (APD) announces the arrest of Jacob Anthony Rodriguez, who was taken into custody on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in connection to three counts of Indecent Exposure. The arrest followed an extensive investigation by the APD Sex Crimes Unit and marks a significant development in the case.

On the evening of Friday, February 7, Rodriguez was driving around the Congress Ave/ E. Oltorf neighborhood targeting young females who were out for a walk. Rodriguez exposed himself to at least three separate females within the span of two hours. Two of the victims were able to take a photo of the license plate and all three victims were able to describe Rodriguez. APD officers then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle blocks away from where the crimes occurred and identified Rodriguez as the sole occupant. At the time, the victims did not file charges.

Days later, the victims notified Detectives of their decision to file charges. Rodriguez was apprehended by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office after the warrants of arrest were issued. He has been charged with three counts of Indecent Exposure and was transported to the Travis County Jail.

“We are pleased to announce this important step in our efforts to bring justice to the victims and the community,” said Detective Vonholt “The work and collaboration of our officers and the community were crucial in bringing this suspect to justice.”
