The Austin Police Department (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit requests the public's help in identifying a suspect, whose description is included below, in a case involving Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. 

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at approximately 1:18 a.m., APD officers were responding to an unrelated incident when they heard gunshots in the intersection of East 7^th and Red River streets. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a victim who was bleeding.

Further investigation showed that three Black males were operating a newer model gray or silver Chevrolet Malibu, which is pictured below. The suspect drove alongside the victim’s vehicle when the front right passenger discharged multiple gunshots, striking the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as:

• Black male
• Possibly shaved head or short hair
• Last seen wearing a black t-shirt, light-colored ripped jeans, and gold chain

The suspect’s vehicle is described as:

• Chevrolet Malibu
• Newer model
• Silver or gray in color
• No front license plate
