Austin encourages the community to shop local and support small business on saturday, November 29

Support local businesses on Saturday, November 29.

Austin Economic Development invites the community to shop local and support Austin’s small businesses on Small Business Saturday, November 29. This annual tradition supports Austin’s workforce, strengthens the local economy, and helps build sustainable, resilient communities.

Small businesses make up a significant portion of Austin’s economy. “According to the U.S. Census, there are over 42,000 small businesses in the Austin area,” says Anthony Segura, Interim Director of Austin Economic Development. “When Austinites choose to shop local, they’re investing in the people, ideas, and creativity that make our city exceptional and business friendly."

Austin has multiple economic and cultural districts which reflect the city’s unique culture and offer a variety of locally owned shops, restaurants, and services. Shop small and explore one of Austin’s various economic and cultural districts.

Austin Economic Development offers robust support to small businesses through its Small Business Division. Aspiring or tenured entrepreneurs can access low- to no-cost resources, including business coaching and educational classes, to help them succeed.
