Strengthening global connections and collaboration through meaningful partnerships

AUSTIN, TX – The City of Austin Economic Development Department is pleased to announce the signing of a the Protocol of Cooperation Agreement between Austin, Texas, and Florence, Italy. This historic agreement was formalized during a virtual call attended by Mayor Kirk Watson of Austin and Mayor Dario Nardella of Florence, Italy. The accord sets the stage for the implementation of a wide range of impactful educational, cultural, and business exchanges and collaborations between the two cities.

"I am thrilled to see the Protocol of Cooperation Agreement between Austin and Florence come to fruition. By building bridges across continents, we are strengthening global connections and paving the way for a brighter future,” explains Mayor Kirk Watson. “Together, Austin and Florence will forge a strong and lasting bond, paving the way for a dynamic future of collaboration and friendship."

Through joint initiatives, both cities will have the opportunity to share knowledge, exchange best practices, and explore new avenues of collaboration. This alliance holds great promise for the development of meaningful partnerships that will benefit residents, businesses, and institutions in both Austin and Florence.

"We are honored to forge this Protocol of Cooperation Agreement with Austin, a city known for its vibrant spirit and innovation,” explains Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence. “Florence is excited to embark on this journey with Austin, as we work together to build a stronger foundation for growth and mutual development between our two remarkable cities." 

The Protocol of Cooperation Agreement between Austin and Florence aligns with the strategic vision of the City of Austin's Economic Development Department Global Business Expansion Division. By fostering international partnerships and collaborations, the division aims to promote economic growth, cultural exchange, and global connectivity. This agreement serves as a testament to Austin's commitment to expanding its global footprint and leveraging its strengths to establish meaningful relationships with cities around the world.

La ciudad de Austin anuncia un acuerdo de cooperación con Florence, Italia 

Reforzar las conexiones y la colaboración a escala mundial a través de asociaciones significativas

AUSTIN, TX – El Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Austin se enorgullece de anunciar la aprobación del protocolo de acuerdo de cooperación entre Austin, Texas y Florencia, Italia. Este acuerdo histórico se formalizó durante una llamada virtual a la que asistieron el alcalde de Austin, Kirk Watson, y el alcalde de Florencia, Italia, Dario Nardella. El acuerdo establece las pautas para la implementación de una amplia gama de intercambios y colaboraciones educativas, culturales y empresariales de gran impacto entre ambas ciudades. 

"Estoy encantado de que el protocolo de acuerdo de cooperación entre Austin y Florencia haya sido una realidad. Florencia está entusiasmada de embarcarse en este camino con Austin, mientras trabajamos juntos para construir una base más sólida para el crecimiento y el desarrollo mutuo entre nuestras dos notables ciudades." 

El protocolo de acuerdo de cooperación entre Austin y Florencia se alinea con la visión estratégica de la División de Expansión Empresarial Global del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la ciudad de Austin.
